I painted this piece to honour the profound inner work of facing what is hidden and finding strength there.

The deep indigo, a colour I’ve always associated with the quiet of midnight just before dawn, pulls you in. At the same time, strokes of metallic gold emerge, like the unexpected glint of resilience found in forgotten corners.

I used textured paint, building up a surface that holds both the rough history and the shimmering promise, a reminder that even our shadows have their own unique contours.

This echoes the larger theme I’ve been exploring in this collection: how facing our inner complexities can illuminate our truest power. I hope it lives with someone who feels its embrace and discovers their own quiet courage within its light.
